Eugene Family Photo Winter Session

Oregon is known for long and wet winters, but sometimes, we get magical sunny days in the middle of winter. According to this from the University of Oregon, Eugene gets an average of 47″ of rain a year. This Eugene family photo session was one of those amazing breaks from the rain. The sun was out and it was COLD. Despite the cold, it was so fun walking around together while I found the best winter light.

We don’t give winter the credit it deserves for the beauty it brings. Have you ever noticed the colors in a winter sunset? Usually, there are pinks and purples as the sun dips behind the clouds. The sky is filled with stunning colors as the day ends. When we get sunny days during the cold months, the light is so much brighter because there are no leaves on the trees to act as filters. Maybe this is why sunny days feel so good in the winter.
