Once upon a time, I wish I had gotten Oregon graduation photos. I grew up in Eugene, Oregon. I went to every expected school—the neighborhood elementary school that fed into the nearby middle school, and then the high school of the area. Going to University of Oregon was my next school in a series of expected schools. I applied to several colleges, and when I got into all of them, deciding where to attend was difficult. Choosing to attend to the U of O was the right choice for me. I learned so much there and met some really great people. On top of that, this campus is so beautiful. It was a delight to walk around in the fall and spring (winter…well, it was winter) and to see the leaves change or the blossoms emerge after a long, wet Oregon winter.
When I graduated from the College of Education at U of O, I only got a small number of blah photos. I wish I had gotten professional photos. The ones I got from the day of graduation were blurry, and every time I look at them, I feel like I missed documenting and remembering an important moment in time. Side note: I guess we graduated from the University of Oregon in black robes and without stoles. And I really liked polka dots. No, really. Look at this:

It’s like they say with investment: the best time to invest is yesterday, but the second-best time is now. Photos are an investment to remember this fleeting season of your life. The best time to get photos done was before now, but the second-best time is now. This age of me knows this lesson and has lived it over and over. I would have loved to have University of Oregon graduation photos like these or these.
