July 1, 2023
Graduation season in Eugene has come and gone for these high school graduates. When graduation comes, it is such a bittersweet time. It’s exciting to see students finish high school, but sad to say goodbye as they move to the next thing. The class of 2023 endured the Covid years with grace. They returned to the classroom when they were in their first years of high school and had to adapt to a new normal—just like we all did, except they also had to manage their academic, social, and extracurricular life simultaneously. This class showed such resilience when that felt difficult and sometimes impossible.
Graduation photos are such a special way to remember this fleeting season of time. Often, the day of graduation is so full of activities and events that the photo part gets lost. Having a graduation photo session allows you to get the photos you want without sacrificing quality. Cell phone photos just aren’t the same as a professional photo session.
I like to celebrate your accomplishments with you! Several students were part of a team I photographed since the spring of their junior year. I had a pink tree spring session with them, their full session in the summer before their senior year, some participated in other opportunities (see ghost photos here), graduation, and even a college session (see a fun video from that session here). One of my favorite parts of senior photography is getting to know seniors and their families over the year or two of photographing them. It’s so fun for me to watch and to see them succeed with graduation and later in life.
