There are two big factors that go into creating the perfect portrait session. Those are time of day and the location. The time that we schedule your session will drastically change the style of photos we can get because the sunlight changes and shifts so much throughout the day. You might have heard that a photographer’s favorite time to work is during the “golden hours” and it’s true because the sun is lowest in the sky during these times (generally right after sunrise and right before sunset).
Location is another big factor in the types of images you’ll receive in your final gallery. In today’s post, I’m showing you a peek into my favorite Eugene portrait location. This spot is perfect because it has a variety of backdrops and even includes access to the river. You’ll see from the photos that we are able to capture shots in tall grass as well as near tree lined paths. The key to the perfect location is variety and this one delivers! What makes this spot even more perfect is that it’s not very well known. You’ll notice I don’t include the address to this spot. I lovingly refer to this not-so-known place as my “secret” location and it’s fun to have a special place to offer my clients!
One of the things that sets apart an experienced photographer from a photographer that maybe just got started is knowledge of great locations. As someone who has been doing senior, family and branding photography in Eugene for a while now, I have learned which spots make for great portraits and am able to serve my clients with that knowledge. If you’ve been thinking about scheduling portraits but you don’t have a great location in mind, you don’t need to worry! I’ll take care of the planning and location selection so that you just have to show up and enjoy your session! Click HERE to get started planning your portrait session!
